Tumbili Lodge
Tumbili is a newly renovated selfcatering lodge located in the greater Mabalingwe Reserve, a malaria free area of Limpopo province, near Bela Bela The reserve is home to the Big 5 (4 roaming free), the 5th big five member being lion, can be viewed at the predator centre, safely fenced off in a separate large area) .
Over 36 game species & 250 bird species are present.
Travelling by car is 2 hours drive from OR Tambo airport in Johannesburg, and about an hour and 30 minutes from Pretoria via the N1 to Polokwane.
The lodge is the ideal family getaway for nature lovers. Rest rejuvenate and enjoy the beauty of the African Bush while spending a few days in this quiet wildlife sanctuary.
Tumbili can accommodate 10 adults and 2 children, that boasts Five all en-suite double air-conditioned bedrooms. The property is a single storey.
Room 1: 2 x ¾ beds can be made as King inside main Lodge.
Room 2: 1 Queen size bed.
Room 3: 2 ¾ beds can be made as King.
Rooms 2-3 is outside with own entrance overlooking the entertainment and pool area.`
Room 4: 2 ¾ beds can be made as King.
Room 5: 1 Queen and 2 bunk beds large family room.
Bedding and towels are provided. Daily cleaning service 9 till 2pm.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering purposes and includes a microwave, an electric oven a as well as gas stove, a fridge-freezer, cutlery, and crockery. In scullery there is a dishwasher washing machine and tumble dryer.
The spacious open plan area consists of a dinning, sitting and bar area. A fireplace and indoor braai completes the picture.
Large Big Screen Tv in Sitting area and separate Tv in Bar full Dstv and internet service. Lovely outside stoep with large table overlooking the entertainment area and swimming pool. Pool with safety Net.
Large open air Boma with seating around the open firepit, overlooking the private watering hole, attracting a variety of wildlife including nyala, warthog, impala, zebra, kudu, wildebeest, porcupine, and even rhino and elephant just to name a few.
At Mabalingwe Nature reserve you can either do your own game drive or book game drives at the Caravan Park or Time Share Reception.

“We had a fantastic stay at Tumbili. The lodge was recently refusbished and very well appointed. It is kitted out with every amenity you could possibly require for a short and long stay. The large watering hole in front of the lodge attracts alot of game allowing you to view them from 3 meters away. We saw two elephants visit the hole on our first day at the lodge. The lodge is 5 minutes from the main gate making it very conveniently located to the reception, local shop and caravan park where most the activities start. The host Rosa is a very friendly lady and was a pleasure to deal with.”
